Do not let your adornment be merely outward- arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel- rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
I named this blog "incorruptible Beauty" based off this beautiful scripture. One of my favorites in God's precious Word.
As women in today's age, we are bogged down with images and opinions of what we "SHOULD" look like. How we "should" act. And its no surprise that the world's opinions on this matter are yet again, contrary to the opinion of the One that actually matters. God. We spend thousands of dollars each year on attempting to feel beautiful. Make up, clothes, hair cuts, maybe some plastic surgery. Obsessing over something that is CORRUPTIBLE.
Christ came to give us life, and life more abundantly (John 10:10). But what does that mean? In John 10:10 Jesus says, "The thief does not come except to steal, kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." Satan love to steal away our joy. He loves to make us doubt who we are in Christ. He loves to make us feel worthless. He loves to turn our focus off the very person who gives us life. Jesus Christ.
This life that Jesus wants to give us is far greater than anything we could possibly imagine. Its a life filled with INCORRUPTION. When we keep our focus on the Lord, the things of the world begin to fade away and all we can see is the beauty that is left over. We see who we are in Christ. We see who He's making us to be. When our lives are centered around the very One that matters, a beauty pours forth that is unexplainable. When we wash our minds with the Word, the heart changes into something wonderful. A beauty that only comes through knowing Christ.
Each morning, lets dress ourselves with fine apparel that NO money can buy. Apparel that can't corrupt. That will never burn away. That protects us from the dangers of this world. And that makes our hearts incorruptible.
Lets take up the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Take up the whole armor of God so we can withstand the evil of the day. A fight with our husband, an overwhelming amount of tasks. Children that don't listen. Exhaustion from a new baby. The sadness of a hurting marriage. Put it on so you will have done all to stand.
Stand Therefore, having girded your waist with the truth, having put on the breast plate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take on the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end, with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:14-17)
That's an outfit worth wearing....
I look forward to being perfected through His Word with you all. I look forward to hearing what God does in your lives. And how He's transforming your hearts into something incorruptible.
In my own study, I will be going through the book of 1st Corinthians. I hope to dig up some amazing treasures there. Please feel free to join me in this study!

ReplyDelete2 Corinthians 4:17-18
ReplyDelete17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Beautifully spoken by a beautiful woman!
AWESOME... AND IT WAS WRITTEN ON MY BDAY!
